Compiling a Kernel for Epia M10000-N
If someone wants to use the kernel config at http://www.witch.westfalen.de/via/ he or she should do a make menuconfig before using ist. Maybe there happens something like that: No boot at all.
The suggested config is especial for that board with Nehemiah cpu, which is quite different from Ezra or Eden. If the board comes with another cpu this must be changed in the configuration. At least there are two configs at all: One for use with unpatched Debian kernel source for Linux kernel 2.4.22 and another for the patched one (resulting in 2.4.23).
The example configs also are for use with no additional cards attached to the board.
If you have problems, please reduce agp mem in bios.
Debian auf Epia M10000-N installieren
Der Teil zu LM-Sensors wurde noch einmal erweitert.
Schon einige Tage vorher habe ich die Links zu den Patches für den Kernel korrigiert und einen hoffentlich besseren Patch für das kompilieren von der Module auf Debian Woody erstellt (Anleitung ist entsprechend angepaßt).
In der Kernel-Config hatte ich Sachen vergessen, die für das Drucken notwendig sind, wenn man über lp und nicht usb druckt.
Kommentare und Hinweise werden weiter gern entgegengenommen. Auf diesem Wege auch Dank an die, die bisher Hinweise gegeben haben.
